Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

 Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 sticks butter, or 1 cup shortening

2 eggs

2 tsp. vanilla (or 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 tsp. almond, and 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring)

1 cup sour cream

4 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. cream of tarter

How you do it:

Cream together sugar and butter. Add egg, vanilla, and sour cream. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. (Add more flour if the dough is too sticky.) Refrigerate for 1 hour. Roll out on lightly floured surface and cut out. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 6 minutes. Let cool completely before frosting.
